Mazen Jabban
Chairman & CEO

Mazen founded Vidrio Financial in 2011 and is responsible for setting strategic direction and the firm’s product development roadmap. In 1994, Mazen founded Focus Investment Group, an alternative investment firm, which incubated the development of the predecessor to the Vidrio Platform. In 1997 he started Focus Europa, one of the oldest European-focused fund-of-hedge-funds and in 2000 he established the Focus Star Fund, a hedge fund seeding program that identified and invested with emerging hedge fund managers. Prior to 1994, Mazen worked in real estate development and investment and later founded a management consulting and information systems company. He is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at NYU’s Stern School of Business lecturing on alternative investments. Mazen received a B.S. in Engineering from the University of California – Berkeley (1978) and an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University, Stern School of Business (1981).

Federico De Giorgis
President

Federico joined Vidrio in 2011 and is charged with overseeing Client Success and operations. He was a managing director at UBS Investment Bank in the Media and Communications Group (2001-2010), focusing on advising companies in the information services sector, including financial technology. Federico began his career with Lazard Freres where he spent 14 years in New York and London working primarily in M&A. With over 25 years of banking experience, he has a wide range of investment and transaction execution experiences, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and both equity and debt offerings. He received his B.A. in Economics & International Relations, magna cum laude, from Tufts University in 1984.

Paolo Vignati
CTO

Paolo joined Vidrio in 2011 and manages the firm’s IT infrastructure and development team, with responsibility for building and maintaining the proprietary Vidrio Platform system. Previously, he was CTO at Focus Investment Group since 1999. Before that, Paolo was a principal at USNext Italia, an IT consulting firm he co-founded in 1993. Earlier experience includes senior managerial, analyst, and programming positions at Esab (1990-1993), Digital Equipment Corporation (1985-1990), and Valda Laboratories (1983-1985). Paolo has a music degree from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and completed advanced computer science coursework at the University of Pavia, Politecnico Fiorentino and Sophia Antipolis Business & Technology Center.

Antonio Simonini
Managing Director

Antonio joined Vidrio in 2011 and heads the Vidrio Product Group, he is part of the senior management team defining core platform development strategies. Antonio ensures Vidrio consistently meets and exceeds clients' expectations, and oversees customer support and client workflow design and implementation. Prior to Vidrio he was a director at Focus Investment Group (1999-2008). Antonio holds the equivalent of a B.A. degree in Computer Science (1995) from the School of Engineering at the University of Parma, in Italy.

Travis Cooper
Managing Director

Travis joined in 2011 and heads the Vidrio Operations team which oversees the Vidrio Platform’s middle-office services, encompassing support for client trade processes and settlement, portfolio management software, portfolio valuation and reconciliation services, and client portfolio onboarding. Prior to Vidrio, Travis was a member of the Investment Committee at Focus Investment group (2000) and worked at Bank of Bermuda’s Global Fund Services Department (1997–2000). Travis holds the Canadian Chartered Accountancy (CA) designation (1996), the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation (2000), and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Waterloo (1995).

Gygmy Gonnot
Managing Director

Gygmy joined in 2011 and heads the Vidrio Research team responsible for monitoring the complete lifecycle of information on all funds on the Vidrio Platform, encompassing hedge fund performance measurement and document management, terms and corporate actions, exposure and attribution aggregation, plus liquidity risk monitoring. Before Vidrio, Gygmy was a managing director and senior portfolio manager at Focus Investment Group, responsible for selection, due diligence, certification, and monitoring of managers across all hedge fund strategies, along with quantitative research and liquidity risk monitoring. Prior to Focus Investment Group, Gygmy was an analyst at Liability Solutions Limited (UK). He holds a finance degree from the IDRAC Business School in Lyon, France (2001). Gygmy is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Ralf Papen
Executive Director

Ralf joined Vidrio in 2017 to lead and expand our business activities in EMEA. He is based in Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to his current role, Ralf was at Credit Suisse for five years where he was managing the Product Control & Reporting teams in the Alternative Funds Solution group; working closely with Fund Research & Execution, Portfolio Management, Market Risk and Marketing; and managing the technology platform for the Hedge Fund group. Ralf worked eight years for UBS as product controller for the IR Swap and Structured Products desks in Stamford and Zurich. Previously, he was PnL and Risk analyst at commercial DZ Bank, New York. He has gained broad experiences providing customized and scalable solutions, and interfacing between clients, stakeholders and technology providers (internal or external). He graduated summa cum laude from the Zicklin School of Business, New York with a BBA in Finance and Investment

Zac Corona
Sales Director

Zac joined Vidrio just before the start of 2022 as a Sales Director. Based in San Francisco, CA, he is focused on expanding Vidrio’s footprint across the US and abroad. Prior to joining the Vidrio team, Zac spent his career growing companies within the Alternative Investment data and technology space, most recently serving as the Director of Business Development at Preqin, the “Home of Alternatives.” Earlier in his career, Zac also worked for The CoStar Group, a global leader in commercial real estate information, analytics, and news. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder where he studied Real Estate, Economics, and Finance. Outside of the office, you will find Zac in the mountains, skiing and mountaineering his way across the world.

Nick Bourne
Commercial Director, EMEA

Nick joined Vidrio in September 2022 as our Commercial Director EMEA, based in London. He was previously Managing Director at TS Lombard (formerly Lombard Street Research), a leading macro research consultancy. There he built-up 24 years’ commercial experience providing research and solutions to asset allocators, fund managers, consultants, and traders across the full spectrum of the buy-side. Nick joined Lombard Street Research in 1998 as their second-ever sales hire. He became Head of Sales, became a company Director aged 30 and ultimately became Managing Director (CEO) and led the company through a successful merger with Trusted Sources, an emerging markets and geopolitical research firm, to form TS Lombard. He received his B.A. in Politics & Philosophy from the University of Liverpool in 1996. He also has compliance experience and has been authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority in London and Securities & Futures Commission in Hong Kong.

Hattan Jabban
Business Development Executive

Hattan Jabban joined Vidrio in February 2023 as a Business Development Executive, based in Amsterdam. He brings with him over 18 years of international business experience in finance and project management in the Middle East and North America. Previously, he held the position of Senior Supply Chain Project Manager at Ranger Design in Montreal, Canada, where he was in charge of overseeing the launch of new initiatives and products for the company. Prior to his tenure at Ranger, he served as Vice President of Project Management at Binzager Factory for Insulation Materials Co. Ltd., where he managed 3,000 employees working on 70 oil and gas project sites throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Formerly, Hattan was the Acting General Manager at International Building Systems Co. for Contracting (IBS), where he completed and handed over multi-million-dollar turnkey projects for clients in the public and private sectors. Before joining IBS, Hattan worked as an Analyst for Focus Investment Group, a fund-of-funds based in New York, where he oversaw monitoring, assessing, and performing due diligence on hedge fund managers across several different hedge fund strategies. Hattan received his B.A. in Business & International Relations from Lake Forest College (2004), and an Executive M.B.A from Concordia University, John Molson School of Business (2022).

David Barry
Marketing Director

David joined Vidrio in the summer of 2022 as the Director of Marketing based in New York. Before joining the team at Vidrio, David was responsible for driving digital engagement at WealthManagement.com. During his time at WealthManagement.com, David was able to drive growth through SEO, email marketing, podcasting and video channels, and was responsible for the creation of the WMTV brand. David completed his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University (Go Mountaineers!) and finished an MBA at C.W. Post – Long Island University. Outside of the office, David is patiently waiting on the Dallas Cowboys to go undefeated, training his 160lb English Mastiff, and exploring future beach vacation destinations with his family.

Aditi Kalani
Human Resources Manager

Aditi joined Vidrio in Summer 2022 as a Human Resources Manager based in White Plains, New York. Before joining Vidrio, Aditi was an HR Generalist at Natural Resources Defense Council, responsible for recruitment, onboarding and other employee lifecycle activities. Prior to NRDC, she has worked in several HR positions in various industries, such as Viacom and CohnReznick. Aditi graduated from Villanova University with her MS in Human Resource Development and CUNY Baruch College with an BBA in Industrial Organizational Psychology. She holds a SHRM-CP (Society of Human Resources- Certified Professional) certification and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Business Partner. Outside of the office, Aditi is a foodie and loves Bollywood and theater.
