What is the background story on Vidrio Financial?

Initially built over 25 years ago as the internal investment platform for an institutional asset allocator (Focus Investment Group), Vidrio Financial has deep expertise in alternative and traditional asset classes. The Vidrio solution was built by investors for investors to streamline portfolio operations across front, middle, and back office processes. We excel at enhancing investment data transparency while working to improve institutional investment decisions.

We operate across the entire spectrum of alternative investments, helping allocators globally. If you are an asset manager/wealth manager or asset owner facing inconsistent data delivery, limited portfolio visibility across antiquated reporting tools, a lack of real-time analytics, an inability to scale investment operations across alternatives, and receiving little to no support or training with your current tool kit, then reach out today, as Vidrio Financial can help.

Where is Vidrio Financial's headquarters?

We are headquartered in New York City and have offices around the world to directly help allocators that seek a more comprehensive, total portfolio approach.

Does Vidrio Financial have offices outside of the U.S.? If so, where?

Yes, Vidrio Financial has a global footprint across Italy, Bermuda, Switzerland, India, and the Middle East.

Who would benefit the most from your data management services and portfolio monitoring solution?

Vidrio Financial serves asset owners and asset/wealth managers that allocate to alternative investment strategies. We help these LPs manage strategies across hedge funds, liquid alternatives, and private market allocations.

Clients include: Asset Managers, Endowments & Foundations, Family Offices, Fund of Funds, OCIOs and Consultants, Pension Funds, and Sovereign Wealth Funds.

What are some of the key features of your institutional investment management software?

There are way too many to list here, but for a high-level summary, take a look below at how we're helping allocators today:

1. Improve data delivery from various fund managers across alternative asset classes. We take on the heavy lifting of collecting your past, present, and future data pipelines and then identify, enrich, and present that data in advanced dashboards and screens. This reduces delays in decision-making, allowing CIOs to act on market trends and movements to generate alpha in their portfolios.

2. Removing fragmented or antiquated systems that can't keep up with more complex alternative investments.

3. Streamlined onboarding and training to provide an extension of your investment team. You get multiple avenues of client support through face-to-face, virtual meetings, videos, whitepaper research, and more.

Where can I learn more about the Vidrio Financial team?

We are glad you asked. Our team is built from former investment market practitioners who saw that a gap existed for many of the world's leading asset managers, asset owners, OCIOs, and more, who allocate to alternative investments.

Take a more in-depth look into each of their bios here on Vidrio.

How are you blending in artificial intelligence (AI) and agentic AI into your solution?

Agentic AI is defined as an agent (eventually based on AI) that decides how to process certain data by choosing the proper model or methodology that maximizes the performance of the outcome.

Vidrio's approach for allocators interested in AI has been that a combination of human interactions + artificial intelligence will always be vastly superior to only AI or humans on their own.

As institutional investors rush to integrate AI in their investment operations, Vidrio is working to expand neural networks and machine learning to evaluate and problem-solve investment challenges that go beyond basic AI solutions. We leverage this through improved data collection, portfolio performance reporting, valuation analysis, and more. Vidrio doesn't conform to a single AI model. We craft customizable internal models to meet the needs of global allocators that we serve. Due to our internal configurations, they are less likely to be subject to data security risks that you find in public AI models. Your investment data is secure.

Tell me more about Vidrio's API functionality and third-party integrations.

We designed Vidrio as a live system offering clients real-time access to their data, reflecting immediate updates on investment intelligence as soon as it is received from administrators, custodians, and managers. Clients have the flexibility to configure reporting dashboards according to their needs and preferences and can export data directly from Vidrio via a REST API.

This allows for seamless data transfer with other systems, enhancing operational efficiency and enabling more comprehensive data analysis and reporting. The takeaway here is that Vidrio is an agnostic solution that can integrate with any existing internal or third-party system.

Does Vidrio offer a complete document management system (DMS) or Research Management System (RMS)?

1. Seamless data onboarding, eliminating unstructured, inconsistent, and late investment intelligence.

2. Processing millions of investment data points each month through a combination of artificial intelligence algorithms and human expertise.

3. Standardization across all asset classes into an organized taxonomy and a single source of truth.

What separates your data management solution (DMS) or research management solution from competitors?

Vidrio's data management or research management solution helps allocators with seamless data onboarding, digitally eliminating unstructured, inconsistent, and late investment intelligence. We process millions of investment data points each month, extracting data across periodic documents, AUM, contract notes, underlying holdings, and more.

Enriched alternative investment data is a strategic asset to the investors that we serve and quickly becomes a source of truth to fill in gaps in valuations, cash flows, risk, and more.

Data is made available directly in Vidrio's central data hub for further consumption, but due to our high degree of configurability, this same data can be piped into any system for further internal team reviews and reporting.

Does Vidrio Financial work with outsourced chief investment officers (OCIO), and do you have any research on OCIO trends that you may be seeing today?

Yes, Vidrio Financial does partner with OCIOs to bring enhanced clarity and reporting to their teams and OCIO clients. We help to systematize information exchange and reduce friction by creating a single source of investment data truth that OCIOS can leverage for future strategic asset allocation decisions. Vidrio further helps to align the portfolio monitoring process across risk management, reporting and analytics, liquidity, cash flows, and more.

Do you have shadow accounting with your investment management solution?

Shadow Accounting is the practice of maintaining an independent set of fund investment data that can be analyzed for accuracy, typically against an Accounting Book of Record (ABOR). This process can be outsourced to a third party or performed in-house. Vidrio Financial integrates the methodology of shadow accounting under a single platform, providing the following benefits to strategic allocators:

1. Integrating shadow accounting workflows.

2. Providing three-way reconciliation between the IBOR and underlying managers and/or investment consultants, and the portfolio administrators/custodians.

3. A tool that helps to manage risk and provides quicker verification of portfolio performance.

Learn more about our methodology in approaching shadow accounting in the Vidrio platform, and be sure to book a demo with our team today.

For portfolio construction, can Vidrio clients create their own model portfolios and simulations? What about workflows?

Yes, Vidrio clients can create their model portfolios or build their own portfolio simulations across the platform. These simulated portfolios can then be linked to a live portfolio and used to create "what-if" scenarios, allowing portfolio teams to test out the best ideas and best investments for their asset allocation strategies. Vidrio's simulation engine allows you to configure backtest settings, make changes without re-running the model so you can seek approvals from a wider team, and schedule recalculations as needed.

In terms of workflows, Vidrio has deep workflow integrations with allocators and can trigger workflows by any event that a client can imagine. These are extremely powerful in approving trades and setting alerts in the system when an investment hits a certain threshold. The three main benefits of workflows for those using the Vidrio platform include:

1. Centralization - making Vidrio a one-stop shop to manage and store alternative investment intelligence.

2. Task Management - tasks can be assigned to either an individual or a group, maintaining a digital audit trail of investment operations.

3. High degree of integration to help push or pull data automatically. This streamlines operations and reduces errors.

Is Vidrio a one-stop solution or can we customize modules separately to meet our direct requirements?

Vidrio can be configured to your existing starting point. If you need a full front, middle, and back office solution to manage your alternative investments, then there is no better partner.

If you would prefer to address one operational gap at a time and see how Vidrio solves for that issue, then that is completely fine as well. Vidrio was built to be 'stackable' and evolves with the needs of your organization.
